Grain of salt?: New study shows limits of data

A controversial new study that suggests a low-salt diet may increase the risk of heart attacks may also illustrate the limitations of observational studies, writes the New York Times.  The story tells a cautionary tale about how much can be learned from a snapshot in time – short-term intervention studies – as well as the importance of having representative data.
