The UCLA Center for Health Policy Research and the Health Initiative of the Americas –a program of UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health-, the UC Global Health Institute through its Center of Expertise on Migration and Health, organized the 7th Annual Summer Institute Conference on Health and Migration on June 25-29 in Los Angeles, CA. The weeklong event brought together over 130 individuals representing 61 organizations in the United States and around the world. Presentations covered a wide spectrum of issues related to migrant health and included speakers from the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Mexican Secretariats of Health and Foreign Affairs.

“The issues that have been raised (at the 7th Annual Summer Institute Conference on Health and Migration), have been really thought provoking and I think the interactions between the speakers and participants have made a really valuable experience,” said Steven P. Wallace, UCLA Center for Health Policy Research associate director and presenter at the event.
